Meal ideas for cleansing. The cleanses I do are from Blessed Herbs So these menus go along with what they suggest for you to eat or not eat.
Do NOT eat:
Citrus of any kind including pineapple
dairy
sugar
Bread (gluten/wheat)
meat (specifically red meat or pork)
Breakfast:
smoothie:
1 cup kombucha
handful of spinach
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen fruit
1 avocado
sliced tomato
sliced mango
(you can have soy free eggs, but it can slow your cleanse process down)
chia pudding
1 can organic full fat coconut milk
3 tbs chia seeds
combine in glass jar. Shake and let it soak in fridge for a few hours or overnight.
serve with fresh fruit, raw coconut flakes and soaked pumpkin seeds or nuts.
Smoothie:
1 cup full fat canned organic coconut milk
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen cherries or berries
Lunch:
salads:
shredded jicama, beet, carrot salad with olive oil and cherries
spinach salad with carrots, avocado, cucumbers, tomatoes. mix dijon mustard, olive oil and fresh raspberries for dressing
kale salad with dried cranberries, olive oil, soaked pumpkin seeds
steamed or sauteed veggies
baked sweet potato
raw fruits and vegetables
a handful of soaked nuts
juice: (adjust ratios to how many you are feeding. This is for 3 adults or 1 adult and 4 kids).
*If you have hypothyroid DO NOT juice: cabbage, broccoli, kale, mustard greens or spinach as they bind to iodine
3 carrots, small piece of ginger, 4-5 apples (I do a mix of pink lady, red and granny smith)
1 cucumber, 4 apples, 1 bunch kale
3 beets, 4-5 apples
1 stalk broccoli and 4-5 apples
1 stalk kale, 4-5 apples, 2 beets, 1 inch piece of ginger
1/4 of a head cabbage, 4-5 apples, 1/2 cucumber, fresh tumeric 1 inch piece
4 leaves of fresh organic dandelion leaf, 4-5 apples, 1/2 cucumbers
1 bunch collard greens, 4 apples, 1 green apple, 1 cucumber
1 bunch swiss chard, 4-5 apples
3 stalks mustard leaves, 1 cucumber, 4-5 apples, fresh tumeric 1 inch piece
all beet tops (the greens), 4-5 apples, 1 inch piece fresh ginger
4 radishes, 1 cucumber, 4-5 apples
all radish tops, 4-5 apples, 3 stalks kale
Dinner:
Baked potato top with steamed veggies
Baked sweet potato, sauteed spinach and onions and apples.
I mash up great northern beans or cannellini beans with fresh garlic and sea salt. then I put sauteed onions (saute in coconut oil), steamed broccoli or any vegetable on top
I make bone broth using a whole chicken (see recipe in my recipe file)
but use bone broth and not the chicken. I add in sauteed onions, celery, kale, garlic and herbs. Can also add in some beans. (see my methods for soaking and cooking beans)
Sweet potato soup. use the bone broth add onions, garlic sweet potatoes, kale, full fat canned coconut milk and serve over sprouted brown rice.
Grilled fish (if you absolutely need some protein)
Sprouted brown rice cooked in full fat canned coconut oil. Steamed veggies and a fruit salad that has been mixed with coconut milk and fresh mint.
Drinks:
Kombucha (*non citrus flavors)
water kefir (*non citrus flavors)
green tea
reverse osmosis water
fresh juiced juice
Dessert:
canned coconut milk ice cream: use 1 can coconut milk, frozen thawed cherries,, vanilla bean powder. Blend in blender or leave slightly chunky. Marinate 2 hrs. Then put in ice cream maker. (can do mango or blueberry and lavender)
chia pudding with stewed cherries:
1 can full fat coconut milk, 3 tbs chia seeds. shake in glass jar. soak in fridge for a few hours. to stew cherries put frozen cherries in saucepan on low add in vanilla bean powder, a dash of cinnamon and all spice. combine until cherries are thawed. simmer for 5 minutes. serve on top of chia pudding.
